First and foremost, I’m honored to coach and mentor future Army Officer, Gabriel Jones. Secondly, as a former Officer in the Army, I knew Gabe had to make some changes to achieve his goals. When Gabe hired me as his coach, he wanted to improve his running and cardiovascular peak performance for his military running portion of the fitness test. I told him he had to improve his nutrition and get in shape with realistic reachable goals. So we began to gradually work his endurance and intensity. We trained several times a week which involved core/functional fitness, strength, speed, agility, and endurance . Each session varied based on times, core work and endurance. (keep in mind, he managed this with his full time work along with volunteering in the community). We had several “mock” military fitness tests to measure base then benchmark.
Needless to say, he’s come a long way, his running is stellar, (his mom is also a track star). Plus, he’s earned gold medals at several 3000m racing events and is now ready to ship off as a future military officer for our Armed Forces.
