Hello Balanced Runners –
Welcome to the 2017 Fall Runners Development Program. As always – we meet at Swift-Cantrell Park at 7:30AM on Saturday mornings, with supplemental training opportunities during the week.
We are in for 14+ weeks of training to either ace upcoming and Turkey Day 5k’s, nail that fall half-marathon, or any and all points in between.
We will be operating off of two training programs. The Short Course program is for athletes who want to focus on races from 5k to 10k. The Long Course program is more appropriate for athletes with a target race of 10 miles to a half-marathon. Copies will be available tomorrow morning.
Your Balanced Running coaching cadre will go over the general outline of the fall session with the group and we’ll look forward to helping each athlete tailor one of the programs to fit their needs.
Here is the schedule for tomorrow:
Warm-Up:
- ROM routine
- Warm-up exercises: 3 x [10L/10R single leg deadlifts, 10 x squats]
Workout
- Short Course: 40 min long run
- Long Course: 5 to 6 mile long run
Mobility
- Stretching routine
